Tokyo is wonderful! It is a huge vibrant city with everything you could ever want to buy in a very efficient clean package! The Japanese clearly value quality and attention to detail, they think of everything! I didn't find it difficult to get around at all even though I don't speak a word of Japanese. A fair number of Japanese speak at least a little English.
The food is fantastic. I had my fill of sushi, udon, ramen and soba. I stayed at an airbnb home of a fellow Umass alum who finds herself living in Tokyo with her Japanese boyfriend. We hit it off immediately and had a number of great conversations over meals, glasses of wine and breakfasts. There was also another guest at her home named Anurag from SF who became my touring partner for the week. It was a great time! Now off to China and the grid! No Google, no Facebook, no YouTube, no Blogger! What to do!?
